My boyfriend is in the Air Force. I’m a college sophomore at the University of Southern California (USC). We have been dating for two and a half years. A year and a half of that has been long distance. We are currently over 8,000 miles away from each other because he was deployed last month.
This photo was taken during my last trip to see him at his base in Washington. We’re both from California.
I just really wanted to share something with the rest you.
Today was his one day off (which he gets every 5 days) from 12 hour shifts. He was sitting around with some other Airmen and couldn’t stand to hear them complaining and hating on their significant others back home. He sent me an email about it. Here’s part of it: “So thank you cupcake, for being a wonderful, amazing, extremely strong, caring and loving girlfriend. you really do make me the luckiest man alive.”
I still can’t get over how much I love him after all we’ve been through. Even from over 8,000 miles away, he makes me feel like the most special person on the planet.
I’m sure a ton of you feel the same about your man or woman. Stay strong everyone! Think about how happy you’ll be when you’re together for good <3
